Parts will be arriving throughout the week. I'll have it back up soon.
I'm also learning the finer points of parts compatibility. I almost have it down to an art now as far as where to look for parts online.

Yes, you are right. I have a switch set up for either full-on or full-off..... no throttle on the collective (using a DX4e with modded switches, one for throttle on/off and one for bank 1/3 selector)
Heat of the moment got the best of me I suppose. o_O

Yes the KDE is a stronger gear definitely. I dont know if it will hold up in a crash however - all main gears will pretty much strip. The quality of the part is much better and it should be straight as well.

Straightness was the main concern. That stock gear was definitely not concentric, AR gear was no better, replacing it too. I'll probably order a KDE gear eventually, but have others arriving tomorrow. All hard parts (main, tail, feather shafts) should arrive today.

Oops :/ not good, but shiz happens.. You shouldnt talk to much with that crash guy. I see you mentioning him very often.. And he is answering every time. He is a fake friend man! Fake!!

Good for you that the parts are cheap. It was my biggest fear with my Align 500 in the beginning to loose orientation. I have flown straight lines and halfpipes for more than 50 flights till I started to fly some corners. My first looping happened after 150 flights. I was too afraid to crash it.. But I didnt

It was more my own fault for flying in less than optimal conditions.

Yeah sometimes its better not to fly.. We had freezy -13 degrees the last days here. My Goblin is resting for a while. I dont believe that -13 is good for bearings, servosgears, lipos and the gyro..

The Heli may be old technology, but parts are plentiful and cheap. I just received a package I ordered:
      1 main gear
      2 AR/tail gears
2 sets of skid holders with skid pipes
      1 bottom frame tray
      2 sets boom supports
1 complete set of tail linkage (rod, crank, slider assy, etc
      2 foam blade holders
All new in package..... 90% genuine Align parts....
      $11.95 (USD) with shipping!
......another example of smart shopping on EBay. :D

@Beaver, if you do your blades in a whoopsie you normally have to replace the main shaft and feathering shaft, I have found this especially on a 450 size model. Tail output shaft sometimes survives when the tail blades a snapped. You get a good idea of what breaks when you go in, list the parts and have a 'crash kit' on hand - i'd add a boom or three to that as well. Have fun with the rebuild, then repeat...and repeat....and repeat.

The hard parts I bought from Wowhobbies.com (US warehouse for CopterX) came in sets of 2 and 4 pcs.
And yes, I intend to keep my eyes open for more deals on parts I might need in the presumably near future...... more gears, belts, blades, booms, etc, especially if I can find them in "lots" like the batch I just received.
I should probably just order a whole entire other kit for $39.... the sum of the individual parts is far more expensive than the entire kit. A replacement rotor head assembly is $25 if bought as a spare part!

I would replace broken parts for Align as you go. It will be a better bird in the end for it.

That's exactly what I'm trying to do. The batch of parts that arrived today are 90% Align. ;)
