I was wondering whats the best method to record solo flying without going over the top expense wise. Something that is practical, easy to carry around and not super expensive?

Quality is fine. I've used my mobius also. Both HD. The only thing is that you need to get the angle right otherwise you can be looking at your model but it's out of frame.

If your flying big air the model dies look small.

I use the go pro head strap, and have mounted a laser sight to it for aiming purposes. I don't wear it when I fly because I can't wear my lucky cap with the camera on, but it works well for filming other peoples fights. I keep the bird in view.

I really like the hard hat/gopro solution. Also protects you just in case! Failing the purchase of a gopro, what i would really like would be a mounting for my mobile phone on my hat. The camera is pretty high quality and you allways have your phone with you....

Here is one guy who made something from a standard hat...

Mine is a bit like the video, I fabbed a cradle out of foam, and threaded a belt, I shaped it to fit the belt clip from my Otter box, had to do some trial and error to get the angle good.

I like using the phone, it makes uploads a breeze and I am 97.65% sure to have it everywhere I go! LOL
