    Hello...
Been running the stock shims on the 570 and the blades are a bit loose for my liking... I have some slightly thicker, and wider shims that give a tighter blade...

So my question is... does the shim diameter matter?

Well @Manyc without being a goblin expert yet, i would say YES. If the tighter shims do not distort the blade grips personally i would use them. The reason I would use them is because a tighter grip means less chance of a boom strike. For example when flying my 550e, i have to keep the blades REAL tight if I fast piroflip. Otherwise I boom strike every time.

I'll take a pic and post it up... the shims can be seen outside of the grips... not sure how it would distort the blades...

I know that the thickness is alright.. more worried about the diameter.. I'm use 700 class blade shims

Hi @Manyc Looking at the build and where the stress points are, i actually thing the larger washer would more mechanically sound. The worst that could happen would be the washer distorts outside the perimeter of the blade grip due to flexing of the blade. You could simulate this just by pushing both edges of the blades down and check the washers afterwards. I think the probability of distortion would be near zero. I believe the blade would snap before distortion...
