Interesting. I was just watching San Andreas (movie) where in one part of the movie they had to auto a Heli after the gearbox failed. They did some strange looking up and down pitching with the cyclic that seemed a bit exaggerated....... or was it?

 

Good question....the updown pitching IMO would slow the rotation... once the rotation slows its usually hastalavista...

 

It is only a movie, so accuracy can't be relied upon since they play on the fact that the average person does not know the difference. It was however, a half decent attempt.
