I got a 6S 6000 30C Glacier inbound... It's lighter and smaller than my 5000 pulse packs. Be interesting to see how it performs in comparison and how much extra flight time I can squeeze out of it.

Also got a 4500 pack coming in, a lot lighter than the pulse with 500mAh less. Trying to experiment with pack size, flight time and C ratings etc to find optimum.

Anyone flown with the Glaciers before?

Will be interesting to hear your findings. Unless the Glaciers are a different 'super-duper' chemistry to other lipos then mathematically it would not be likely for them to have 20% more capacity yet be lighter and smaller.

Agree that makes sense, the size and weight may be due to the difference in C rating. The pulse packs I have are rated at 65C where as the glaciers are 30C.

I'm not convinced that my flying style demands the extra C..

The plan is to do a multi pack test of the pulse 5000 65, Glacier 4500 and 6000 30C and possibly one or two other brands at 4500 and 5000 between 30 and 45c (if I can get my hands on some).

Basically fly a set routine of circuits, loops, rolls, flips, stall turns upright and inverted for about 4 mins at a mid level HS and review the flight feel and castle logs.

The goal being to select a pack config that gives me a good balance between flight feel, pop, performance and flight time etc. Then go get a few of the winning pack...

Fair call on the C rating. Do you have any internal resistance readings from your current Pulse pack/s?

No, I'd need to get those. They are second hand packs. There are ok for my style, but a real 3D smacker might think they are a bit old and tired.
