It's pretty easy. The software pretty much walks you through the setup procedure.

      I have a question:
What's the difference between HH and Rate mode in tail setup?
I've been looking online, but explinations I see are vague at best.
I'm running my 450 in HH mode right now and it seems to be holding well. What is the purpose of rate mode?

Never mind...... I found the answer. Sounds like I need to stick with HH mode. (No pun intended) :D

Yeah head holding mode will make the tail try and keep the nose pointing in the same direction... Rate mode only cares about the input.. Won't try and correct...

I have put the tail in rate mode to get the optimal tail mid point.. Where the tail in middle stick has enough angle to counter the torque of the blades...

It's not important... But I do it when I can be bothered when I'm doing a setup

What I get out of it.... Rate mode makes Heli react more like a plank where the tail tends to fall behind opposite forward or banking movement, and is more suited to scale type flying.
I also read that some prefer to setup tail with rate mode, and then switch to HH once setup is optimized to their preference...... as you described.

(Palmface) Duh..... rate mode.... basic rudder and counter-torque with no gyro. I thought there was more to it.
