Really... Hmmm.... Maybe its less of a hassle to just stick with what i've got... But, I just want something different and new.

I honestly havent had any issues with the DX8 or Spektrum altogether. So, I may just keep her. It's just most pros fly with Futaba and I've heard the hopping frequency tech has better algorithms.

Not in any rush to switch. If I even do.

(Yes, you may have opened up a can of worms lol)

Mate, I was joking, I have never had a signal outage with Jr / spectrum, if you're on a good thing stick to it, but hey, if you want futaba, go for it, I think they are a great radio

I brought a dx8 that must have been built on a friday afternoon. I had many issues - gimbals would need cleaning every three months, the Arial wire fell off, and a gimbal wire fatigued, broke and trashed a model. That was the last straw for me, I switched to futaba and have had no issues. Aside from the problems which were most likely bad luck, the main difference I found was that the Futaba Gimbals were a smoother and faster action. Once i felt the action i was sold. Also it is easier to get your fingers over the top of the gimbal sticks because its a narrower grip. If you have huge hands however this may be an issue. Spectrum has a more intuitive menu system but futaba is completely configurable (ie any switch can do practically anything).

I guess Futaba are for smaller aisan hands :p
I have guitar hands but not huge

I used to have a Spektrum DX7 the old school ones when JR actually still manufactured them. I regret selling it sooooo much

I just went to my LhS and felt the Futabas..... gosh they are pretty smooth and all the guys at the field fly it so it wouldn't be a second dialect id have to pick up completely on my own. Heard the menus aren't exactly intuitive

They do take a bit if getting used to.. but there are done awesome videos it there walking through the menus.. Bobby watts does some very nice walkthrough on an 8th and 14SG..

The 14SG is larger than the 8FG with larger switch spacing.. so give that I've a try

Thanks for that... This DX8 is just big enough, but can feel too confined at times

599.99! will have to wait till a couple of months from now though or the wife wont be a happy camper about that lol

I do love that JR radio @simon has... I've always had something for JR radios. They just seem superior. I miss my DX7 :(
