Has anyone brought or used the Devil 380 clone? If you have what is it like?

I would like a goblin but the price is out of my reach (sort of like wanting a Ferrari I suppose). Maybe the devil 380 is good? Is it an exact copy? Anyone going to buy one?

Oh my goodness! They raised the price!... This tells me that this helicopter is not so easy to make. If the Chinese cant cut the costs down significantly no one can...

Is the canopy exactly the same profile as the g380? It looked a bit skinyer from the photo

They are about the same size but are cut slightly different. 000_0681.jpg 000_0682.jpg 000_0683.jpg 000_0684.jpg 000_0685.jpg 000_0686.jpg

HOBBYWING has released the 60A V4 ESC now. I bought one and went to install in my new Devil and the lead is too short to reach FBL system. The lead on the no name ESC was perfect. I wish they would have kept the same length. If you mount it with battery lead towards back of heli it may reach fine.

Hey you got the switch blades on there as well. I noticed a BIG difference in flying when using the switch blades....

At this time I only fly Halo or Switch blades. The new Devil of mine is a mix between both. Halo main blades and Switch tail blades. I was stuck with this combo because my Switch main blades did not fit the grips. The roots were too thick and I could not get the brass sleeve I installed in the Switch tail blades out. I may try pressing it out today with my arbor press.

I like halo and switch..... But prefer the switch blades for the 380. Switch blades feel great for hard smak. Very controlled but still wild.

My plan was to install Switch all around on the second devil. The Switch main blades root were too thick. They should have been 5mm but were 5.12mm. I will probably not take too many more chances of buying Switch if they can not control this problem. I have three sets of Switch main blades and only one set has 5mm root. The other two sets will not fit the grips on the Devil or G380. I like the feel of the Halos in flight more than Switch

Oh wow... that is interesting to know. Quality is very important for sure. Did you message Bert Cameron on facebook? I am sure he would like to hear about this.

I like the Halos as well but just prefer the switch a little more. Its only personal preference but the halos are a very very nice blade. I only switched (no pun intended) around October to the switch after trying a pair.

I have not contacted him about problem yet. I`m using them on my stretched X3`s for now. I made more flights today and yesterday on both Devils. They are flying great and well worth buying. Even if you install the G380 tail parts on Devils as I have. I only used the G380 tail shaft / hub, spindle, & O-rings / washer with the rest being stock Devil parts. I did install a G380 21T pinion on new Devil since I had problems with it unscrewing on first Devil. The parts only added an extra $37US to price of kits.

I weighed all three tonight with the same 1800mah battery minus battery tray. I have two Devils and one G380.

      Devil380 w/ stock canopy / boom....... 1532 grams
      G380 w/ stock canopy / boom............ 1517 grams
      Devil380 w/ Fusuno canopy / boom......... 1508 grams

I will say it is a given fact that the Devil 380 will be heavier than G380. The Devils have the HW 60A V4 and the G380 has the HW 100A which affects the weight totals. The weight is not a problem for me. I`m not a crazy 3D flier. I find full blown 3D flying boring.

I think the thicker frames might also be the difference in weight. But i can tell you that a g380 running at 4k feels light even with slightly more weight. Whats grabbed my attention however is the 24 grams difference between the fusuno and standard boom/canopy

Yep.. I know the frames are heavier also. Sorta why I said it is a given that a stock Devil will be heavier than a stock G380. I need to compare ALZRC boom to G380 boom. Then do the same with canopies.

If they all three had a 60A esc in them you could take another 55 grams off the +/-G380. If you go the other way and had 100A ESC in all three you would add 55+/- grams to both Devils.

I have both, the devil has thicker side frames, lighter top plate, thinner fiberglass canopy, and a better tail (no play compared to goblin).

Cons: cheaper quality plastic, some machining fault (not tight fit but tolerable)

The booms are similar in terms of thickness.

Another good thing is the main blade, very cheap but performs very close to the stock SAB blades.
