Has anyone brought or used the Devil 380 clone? If you have what is it like?

I would like a goblin but the price is out of my reach (sort of like wanting a Ferrari I suppose). Maybe the devil 380 is good? Is it an exact copy? Anyone going to buy one?

Judging from past observations, clones are not a favorite topic of discussion here, but a hand full of us don't mind them. (See thread: "Goblin Clones") I can't complain since I have a T-rex clone on the way as we speak. General consensus is that certain parts may need to be upgraded to genuine " brand name" parts, such as head assy, swash plate, main gears, etc. Those vital parts tend to be of lesser quality in "clones" and can wear prematurely or fail, especially under extreme flying. If you don't plan on flying 3D, than upgrades are of less concern, but still recommended. That's for "Clones" in general. You might try to Google ALZRC and see what reviews you come up with, it I think the Devil 380 is too new for there to be much info on that...... I could be wrong though.

Ha ha ha... great title @joffa13 i was going to use that one some how... Clones are fine, at the end of the day you usually get what you pay for. Now the devil 380 is not that cheap from what I understand.. Check out the price here http://www.banggood.com/ALZRC-Devil-380-FAST-RC-Helicopter-Kit-p-1006773.html Not a huge difference in price compared to what we buy them for here. So that leaves only a few possibilities. If the quality of the Devil 380 is ok then it shows that SAB are not making as much money as perceived ie the kit is nearing the sab price, or the devil 380 is overpriced (probably to pay for the R&D).

You are my friend, and report back to the Helgods on your findings, someone has to take one for the team.

Yes @joffa13 as @simon says, the heligods need to know! If you buy one be sure to report back with a build thread. Although I think i can predict what the build thread will look like.

The Chinese may be shooting themselves in the foot trying to capitalize on the desirable characteristics of the SAB design. They will loose money to those who go with the logic of paying a little extra for the "real thing", or they will have to reduce the price to be able to sell the their product.

Its very interesting @Beaver. I just cant see them moving stock at that level. Maybe they dont actually have lots of stock and have priced the kits strategically. Then maybe once they get stock the price will drop. We will see. Its possible we might be able to get cheaper canopies or booms! This could possibly be a good thing for goblin because people might buy the devil then swap out the parts which are substandard with original parts.

LOVE IT... wae tu yung... LOL. But yes the Iron man canopy is awesome. There are so many design possibilities using the boom and canopy combination.
