Ok, So this is really kewl, but very but dangerous at the same time, he should at least be buddy boxed for his own safety.. A child of 5 cannot know the full consequence of what could happen. Imagine what would happen if the worst came about, The media would have a field day with it, and I'm sure the parents would serve Jail time, for sure..

Don't get me wrong i think it's awesome and wish him all the best, But.. Really no buddy box to keep him safe ? Bad call and very dangerous if you ask me.

    Whats your opinion ?

If the flight was by anyone else, there'd be heaps of comments like "great flight". Double standards if you ask me. To take this thread to its canonical form, there are two groups, i) group A thinks the pilot is to young regardless of skill to fly without a buddy-box, and ii) group B thinks the use of buddy box should be skill based. How about we get everyone below a gold wings to require a buddy box, then Rhys can get his gold wings and buddy box for a lot of members on this site. I don't think any amount of argument will change people's minds. And of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, there is nothing wrong with being in either group. I am in the skill based camp, great flight Rhys. Some people are just gifted, I believe Rhys is one of the lucky ones. Well done dad

I will stand by Rhys while he lays the smak down! Fron what I have seen, I have faith in his dad and it all comes down to that. I don't think you can generalize and say kids will be kids.. If a child has had no education or careful tuition and he takes the controls - well sure i would go running.... So you have to qualify Rhys example and say - I would trust the same situation if a child has been brought up by a caring father who has shown him what to do and overtime has helped develop him into the pilot he is today. I see it a bit more than the flying. I see it as an awesome display of love.
