I am very very disturbed with the recent push for auto recovery and stabilization systems being so sought after by many helicopter pilots. This invention is an abomination, the dumbing down of a hobby which is designed to be challenging.

You the pilots have a choice:

1: Refuse to accept such technology and fly like real men should. Hold your head high and continue to learn, crash, and rebuild

2: Drop 500 testosterone points, buy a pink dress and use flight stabilisation

The choice is yours. I do not have any reason to support one technology over the other. I am only trying to preserve the status quo and dignity of truly skilled pilots who some how manage to dodge my bullets.

If you think flight stabilisation may reduce the incidents of crashing, think again. Remember you usually have to flick a switch. And you have to remember to flick the right switch....

So how do you want to go down? Crashing in the knowledge that I may have had something to do with it? or Crashing knowing that it was totally your own fault for not flicking that switch - and wear a pink dress at the same time.

    You decide

    CRASH

Here, here, CRASH... I totally agree!

These pussys need to learn to fly the bloody thing rather than relying on these wank factor electronic gizmo's. No body wants to put the time into learning the basics and becoming a good pilot anymore, it seems to be all about who can be the quickest to master tick tocks, piro flips etc.

If you learn the basics you don't need any of this other bullshit.....

I must confess, along time ago, I did put in an order for a Helicommand, but only because where I am gets windy (and also I am a shiz pilot, then there is the time I dive bombed the pits, this one I will save for the confessional). However, for some reason, the order never succeeded and I never got a Helicommand.

Also some life factors have prevented me for hovering for a good long while.

However, ever since getting a 90 sized Heli (Hirobo Freya), I am not bothering to want a flight stabilisation system.

I have only hovered the 90 sized heli twice, first time under supervision but not for long, second time by myself and for longer.

Both of these hovers happened under typical perth summer winds.

First thing I noticed, the Helicopter took the wind well, i would consider it to hover better in the wind, than a 450 electric hovers in calm conditions.

I would have to say, knowing your helicopter setup, setting it up right, and becoming proficient at flying would be more important than any electronic aid.

I am not conversant in the art of the fly barred head setup, but it looks like this is getting a bit lost.

I had to give Crash God a like, he was on 666 blessing points for Christ's sake, that is just pure wrong. I do have a feeling however, no matter how make likes / unlikes! we give him, he will remain on 666.

Also, I will soon start putting a vid together for how the BD 3SX works, looks like I'll be putting an order in for a pink dress as well (think I'm already growing man-boobs! - so got that covered)

Yes MadBird, I agree, however the HeliGod Father would not agree. He is for stabilization and auto recovery. Me? well for any person loving this technology I offer them this - for free!.... It will match the auto stabilization system perfectly.

I thought about getting an Ares 300cp or a Blade 230s, they both have have a "save me switch". Logic prevented me from going down that road. 1. I've gone this far without it, so why bother. 2. Foregoing the extra cost of a recovery system allows me to get more heli for the money. 3. Blade and Ares are both RtF only.... and I would rather build a kit. 4. I won't be caught dead or alive in a pink dress. 5. @Crash Heligod is an ass, but his occasional visits do make for some interesting challenges that no switch can provide or replace. We love you Crash (like a bastard step-child).

I wouldn't worry about auto- stabilization too much @Crash Heligod, there are plenty of situations that the flick of a switch won't fix. In some cases, it might even make things worse.

I don`t use auto level or a bail out, because I learned to fly before those were available. Since I have trained myself to hit throttle hold in a crash situation, I do expect I would forget I had a bail out even it I had one set up. So for me personally, there is no point in setting a bailout up in this stage of the game.

I know and accept that every crash I have had was all on me. Although, I`m sure the bone bag did play a part in helping me with the job.

Hmmmm. No testosterone here, but I have flown in a dress a few times. ;)
