Hi all, recently i received an align 800 trekker dfc as a gift :D wow! Just looking at it it has 7001 hv servos and a caslte creations 120hv esc as standard, now im no hard smack pilot but i like hard turns and stopping helis quick to hear the blades crack every now and then, tick tocks, what i like to think are piroflips, and inverted circuits etc is this setup going to be ok or will it fail?

Servos rated to 20kg so id like to think they would be fine but the esc im worried about as a friends 700 has burnt the 120 out with just simple forward flight and loops.

Does anyone fly this heli what are your thoughts?

    Any tip and tricks?

    Cheers Rhys.B

      Hi man

The esc is not a bad thing. But some hard manuvers could burn it for sure. Loops and fast forward flights with that big blades can pull some current out of your packs.

I have a 700L and im still flying it easy with the 850mx motor and the 160 castle edge. When I look at my logging Im pulling from 60 to 120 amps most of the time. Sometimes 150 but this is just a split second.

Im doing tik toks, big air stuff like loops and big funnels, some inverted and here and there a speed line.

Dont run it on 100% and you are on the safe side with an easy flight style. Set it up correctly!

Align servos.. If they work they work. Keep the heart rates low in your fbl unit. 200 Hz for cyclic is ok. For tail I would suggest the same. 270 Hz maximum. Its enough for easy 3d.

Use a bec to be safe.

      Enjoy the build :)

That would be the 100% safe way. You know how it is.. You fly harder and harder..

I'm with @iggy on this, sound advice indeed, you need 160 at least. I put a YEP 180 on a 14s rush and that has power to burn and it's cheap and reliable as far as I can tell - just another option.

@bradshaw , if you go down the route of a YEP 180, they can be a PITA to set up, here is a link that I used that works really well (everything has to be done in the right order or you will never get it working). When I first got mine, it would not take the settings, and in frustration I bought a Kosmik 200, but just before I fitted it, @Jeff_Bradley sorted it out for me (thanks Jeff), the Kosmik is still in the cupboard - I am more than happy with the YEP 180. I have set up a YEP 120 for a mate, and it's the bomb, the YEP 180 is the same. These videos are the go gear.

      and

That's what you need my friend.
