Ok...lol.....some of you may know how much I hate my nano.....but man lol....I went out for the second time outside. I went outside to check the wind and it was calm as Jesus on Valium. So I went out to do some inverted flying and circuits and what not and holy hell the wind started picking up but if I wasn't flying I'd say it wasn't windy at all. But flying the nano it was like a hurricane. I'm not the most coordinated pilot and I'm not the best but I know my way around and to the lame I may look pretty good. My god I hate this heli....there is not enough room to fly inside. Basically all I can do is some quick flips, hover, and slow flying. I can't fly out side because I can't see the damn thing, if someone farts it blows the heli around, you have to keep it pretty close so you can see it well enough to know your orientation and that means you really need to be fast on the sticks which I'm not that good at. I know if I keep practicing I'll get better but man it's just so much easier with a 500 lol. At least when I give positive pitch I know it will go up and not down lol. And let me tell you about circuits and figure 8's lol. I don't know what the problem is with me and this nano, but I can NOT do circuits. For some reason I can't bank the turns. I have no problem on the longer turns but having to do it all in such a close proximity and faster I have such a problem. I can't wait to permanently retire this thing or give it away haha. I for sure want a nice micro around but the nano does not fit me for sure. I'm don't with blade micros. They are just junk IMO. Maybe the nano just left a bad taste in my mouth. So sometime between now and fall I'm going to have to get something I enjoy better. Hopefully at IRCHA I can test out some micros and find one I like. I'll be going with a wad of cash so I'm sure every vender there will be yelling "try this" "try this" lol. I hope to walk away with 3 new helis depending on what I buy within the next few months. I know I can't wait until august for everything. After all that's most the flying season. I really want to try the nano in an indoor court or something like a high school basketball court. See if I can have more fun with it. I see all these vids of people enjoying the nano outside and I feel like I must be a retard or something lol. I'm just so sure a mcpx BL will fly so much better for what I want out of my heli.

How does everyone else like their nano? Does it seem to be holding up or are you constantly replacing something on it? I spent a ton of money making my nano crash proof and the only thing it doesn't have is a frame. I didn't want one because of weight. So what I did was drill holes in the frame and the canopy mounts and put a metal rod inside of them and then I glided them back on. So now they are as hard as steel. I kept having trouble with the canopy mounts breaking after crashes where the canopy would hit first and break off the mounts. I first said well I fly good enough now that I won't have any more of those crashes and just bought another stock frame...well I put that on and broke 2 mounts lol. But it was because I was being dumb. So I bought another one, put it in my heli tool box and smashed it when I closed it hahahahaha ha. Omg I was so mad. But like I said I ended up piecing them all together and making a nice stiff frame reinforced with steel rod and carbon fiber. I have so many fixes on this thing if I could do it all over I would of spent the extra money on something better. I mean hell my cheap v911 has not ever broke after some hard crashes from flying around at top speed circuits and hitting my light fixture...that this is hard core. Very boring to fly since it's so easy and you can't do anything with but still a great heli.

Well like 5fidy said BUT. I have a nano cpx sitting on top of my PC right now. Its staring me in the face and i am hankering to fly it. When it was flying I was ok with it. But then the landing gear went. And then the tail motor. Then more landing gear went. Now I have more landing gear but I misplaced the batteries. Now as for my mcpx-bl. I have that tricked up as well. On the weekend I flew it, went inverted and the landing gear fell into the rotors. Far out... Landing gear is toast. Now I love micro helis - when they work. But whent they dont work they are so frustrating and cost as much as a 450 to run.

Dude I have a 500.....the nano isn't my only heli so quit telling me what to buy....I know the nano is a piece of shiz.....I'm getting pretty tired of your attitude. Stop replying to my posts if all you are going to do is make a scene. Please man...it's not what the post is about

I spent the money on it hoping to make it a better heli. And it's solid except for the shiz design. I put great carbon fiber landing gear on it and it stays put very good. So if that's you only problem I'll give you the link to what I got. The gear stays in place and take some very hard landings. That was the first thing I got. I knew from the start that that landing gear wasn't going to cut it lol. I also bought a new tail motor and boom which also works great. I think both the landing gear and boom/motor were the xtreem brand. It was cheap and I'm very happy with both. I also made a few booms for it out of carbon finer rod. If you want me to make one for you let me know. I have plenty of rod left and they are unbreakable lol trust me. Or if you want to make your own I can tell you what I did just let me know. It's just not a heli I like and it's impossible IMO to make it worth buying. Even with a BL motor I still think it's shiz. By the time you spend the money on making it worth having you're well at the point of a mcpx BL. Still if you decide to make the nano into a BL it still won't fly well outside unless you have perfect conditions. So unless you have a nice indoor place to fly I'd just keep it as is and poop around with it in the ole livin room haha. At least with a BL you won't be buying a motor every other week lol.

Here is a pic of my landing gear. It came with boom supports that I don't have on in that pic. I did a bit more to it since that picture but that landing gear is great.

Thanks Tramachaser, I may take you up on that. I also have a mcpx BL and they are not 100% trouble free by along shot. You see the tails on the mcpxBL are so small that they can easily heat up very easily if anything (ie hair) is causing friction on the tail rotor. And when this happens it sometimes cooks the motor. So the size negates the reliability infact i would say the old mcpx tail motor lasts more flights on average than what the new BL tail does.

Despite the problems I still have a love affair with small helis and hope one day that a descent hard wearing and hard performing helicopter is released by someone. There is nothing like having 10-20 mins stick time per day if you can get it. Micros help in this area.

I spent a heap on my mcpxBL and had 4 flights and boom.. landing gear falls into the blades. 20 bucks worth of landing gear gone. My 450? Fly for 4 months, probably over 500 flights and only last weekend it bit the dust. And that 450 (mini-protos) is my pride and joy.. so much fun. But i still need to have a micro working !

Yeah blade make my stomach hurt lol. Have you looked into any other brands? I've thought about trying a few out. It's just hard to know unless you actually have one you know. There will always be that great line of micros where there is never a problem until you buy one lol.

I'd rather not go and spend 150-250$ on a test heli lol. It's to bad there isn't one solid one out there. But I have heard good things about a few. I can't remember which ones they were though......ugghhhhh makes me mad now.....another brain fart. I know I made a post a while back in another post I can't get back in right now to look it up. I'll try to find it though.

Wow I actually had a good nano flight today lol...it was actually pretty damn windy too. But......I took it out to a baseball field instead of the backyard so I didn't have trees and roofs to worry about. I also tried something just out of curiosity and it helped a lot....I don't know why though. Well I have an idea but that's it. What I did was I tightened the blades so they don't spin freely and are tightened straight like on bigger helis. I had quite a bit more control. Your guess is as good as mine. Might just be a fluke too lol. That's the most like reason. I'm hoping to get the 500 spun up this week, fingers crossed.

And thats the thing Traumachaser, you can have an awesome time with micros. Thats exactly why I persist and continue to hope/search for that holy grail. At one time all i had was an mcpx. That thing taught me how to piroflip - and fast. Because the heli was so small and twitchy I gained skills to hold control while pegging the rudder stick on my larger heli! Yes I crashed many times. Yes I spent a hell of a lot. But i think it shaped my flying in ways that would have normally taken much longer.

One other thing to watch out for is the servos on the nano and mcpx. Sometimes they can go intermittant and give the feel of poor control. I use a product called sinox which i spray into the servo track board - just a bit - and it takes away the chatter and usually gives the servo a longer life.

Anyway great news that your having fun with it, you have persisted with it so you deserve some return thats for sure.

Lol yeah you never know @TrAuMaChAsER .. It might be a one time thing... But with me I was always on a rollercoaster ride of thrills and happiness when i finished my session with no issues, and depression when I had to fix the dam thing after some mechanical screwup or lack of power to pull out of a manoeuvre - but in my case was an mcpx.

Yeah true but I have invested just as much on the mcpxBL and I really want to start using that as my backyard basher again. If the landing gear did not fly off it probably would still be ok... I still have a glimmer of hope.

Now there is something else wrong with my shiz nano lol....at least I think. It wouldn't pitch up so first I thought the servo was dead. But I reminded it then that worked but it's still not flying right. I think I might of been using a dead battery too because when I tested the battery it was at 3.70v. So I just charged all mine and put in a new feathering spindle that I had to because I was getting some wobble at times. It's really weird what it's doing. It almost feels like I'm flying with someone else's expo and D/R. So I'm gonna look at it in a little bit with a new battery and hope that's what it was or it was the spindle. All I know is I'm not spending more money on it lol. Cause it wasn't crashed or anything (lately) lol. I'll miss having the little cp micro to fly inside but I'm done with it! I wish I was rich and could build a huge indoor flying field! That would be so sweet. That might be a cool business if there was enough people in the sport in one area. Especially in winter. It would take forever to make money though. It would have to be for the love of the hobby. If won the lottery I would for sure do it though. Have a nice little shop inside and sales floor. I can picture all of it....

Actually it didnt damage anything apart from the frekin landing gear!... amazing, truly amazing. I am thinking about making my own landing gear from a plastic icecream container and two screws.... I will see how it goes.

I just finished looking at my nano and I can't believe it...another bad motor! I just put the damn thing in like 2 weeks ago and I dint fly for lots of those day because I was messing with the 3-1! What a POS! Luckily I had the one horizon sent me for free because I would of never guessed the motor.

This is why I hate blade. The obviously know the motor is a piece of shiz because when I called I told the guy I only had at the very most 50 flights and he was like yeah that what they are rated for. SERIOUSLY! You guys suck! My 47$ v911 has been going strong for a year with probably over 1000 flights and not one issue! I will never buy a blade again. They are cheap and the trash of RC helis. If you know the motor is shiz than don't freakin use it! Maybe they should talk to WL Toys and ask to use their motor for the v911 because I think it probably has more power too! I can't wait for the day when I have another micro and I never have to fly this piece of shiz again. There is nothing you can do to this heli to make it worth having. I mean if you hop it up and put a BL motor on it and do all the aftermarket parts you are already at a price you can buy a much better stock heli. The blade BL motor isn't that great either. It only last slightly longer than the stock ones lol. What a joke this heli is. I'm sure their are people out there that's ware by blade and love the nano but it's just because they haven't had better. I have a 500x and I haven't had any problems or complaints yet but it's only been flown twice haha so we will see. I have a feeling it will be for sale or trade very soon.
