    Hi All.

    Let me first explain the title.
    I vape therefore I am. @Andrew R and I vape. This is just a nicotine replacement therapy. We get cool bits of kit, that turn liquid nicotine into vapor, inhale it and get our fix. This stops the the government taxing the shizzle out of us - and stops us smoking cigarettes. By giving up smoking, I save enough for a full candy TDR each year plus more. This thread is all about vaping, if you have no interest in vaping or smoking, browse away now.
    The title came from a text from my brother, @Andrew R . We refer to vaping as "blowing clouds", but in Apple's wisdom, the auto-correct changed 'clouds to clowns'. Ever since then, I ask him if he has been blowing clowns!
    Anyway, This thread is to help any pilot that smokes cigarettes and wants to save enough by giving up to buy a wicked piece of kit. Now I know a few Vapers, these would be
    @simon
    @Andrew R
    @mark
    @feral
    Here's you chance, put what you use, any cool links, pics of your vaping kit, and any thing else that will help our fellow pilots give up the stinky's (cigarettes). In the words of the Angels, Let the night roll on...I'll add to this tomorrow.

      Good post for an "OFF TOPIC" thread.. :) That's funny Man, "Blowing Clowns" I've been blowing clowns for about 4 months.. Got me off the butts quick smart. (Pun intended) For me ProVari Mini is the best vaper .. Look forward to seeing what info you guys come up with and if there are any other clown blowers out there.

      ProVari Mini 2.5 and an Aspire Nautilus Mini BVC are a good combo.

      I cape when in "non smoking" environments. I've noticed in the last year that the battery packs for some of these vape rigs are getting big enough that one could damn near run a 500 sized heli with it. :eek:

      I run a ProVari Mini 2.5 and an Aspire Nautilus Mini BVC too at the moment, with an extension cap for 18500 batteries. I have run the iTaste 20, which is a variable voltage variable wattage box mod, the Spartan, which is the beast, running 26650 batteries and a couple of Nemesis clones. The nemisis is a great mechanical mod after you throw the spring used in the firing button away and replace it with magnets.
      The batteries are a 1S lipo, with the code being the first 2 numbers is the diameter of the battery, and the next three being the length, so an 18500 is 18 mm in diameter and 50.0 mm long. You can now see the Spartan takes a mother of a battery.

      I am enjoying five pawns liquid at 18mg ATM, www.fivepawns.com , I ordered 5 bottles, they threw in an extra 30 ml bottle, and two samplers plus free shipping - which is pretty good IMHO.
      Anyway, I'll keep blowing clowns and have the smoke dribbling of my chin

      I have nothing to do with smoking or vaping, but, I would like to bring up the following points:
      - In my eyes, if someone smokes, so what, it may be one of the few little pleasures in their life.
      - What you are doing is extremely smart and awesome, not spending money on normal cigarette tax ( which just gets spend on some politicians extravagant salary so they can have a good life at the expense of us ), and buying something tangible for yourself (such as a new RC heli).
      - I just realised I have lied when I have nothing to do with smoking , I own an RC helicopter with a nitro engine, how many times have I smoked out the pits at my local field when the breeze was just right.

      Maybe that's why I like nitro's so much, on a still day there is nothing like it. The kicker is, the government wants to ban vaping (and vaping devices) because they are not raising money from the revenue, so ban a harm minimization tool so they can rape the people that are addicted to nicotine. I was in eastern Europe a couple of years ago and a packet of smokes was $4.00 and a bottle of vodka was $9.00, shows you how much the government likes taxing us (and I'm sure they taxed them too). Just on vaping I will save about 4k per year, it's a no-brainer - spread the word.

      you blow clowns @Captain ?, or are a smoker, it's a great thing to do (switch from stinkies to vaping) and you can by yourself a new 700 ion less than a year and still be in front.

      HA. Not currently "blowing clowns" & yes I'm a smoker & need to stop. I think this maybe the way to do it. I have had a try of a E cig once but it left my mouth dry & I was not very satisfied. Is there much of a difference to Vaping? @simon or is it essentially the same thing?

      It is technically vaping, but the e-cigs are worthless and I have found them very unsatisfying as well. I think they are more for the non-smoker that wants to look cool, but they may work for some. It's like flying a coaxial heli you get in a mall, compared to a 700 nitro with a vBar, I was a heavy smoker and stopped pretty well instantly, my brother @Andrew R and his wife as well, I gave my nemesis to @feral at HH15, and he stopped pretty well straight away, maybe he can comment, I know he had experience with e-cigs and can compare them to the nemesis. It's an easy transition with the right kit. Ask away and we will tell you everything we know.

      OK so what you need is a mod (these are the things with the firing button and battery)
      http://www.vapeking.com.au/mods/
      I would not go the mechanical mod (no control over voltage or wattage), instead I'd look at
      http://www.vapeking.com.au/eleaf-istick-20w-box-mod/
      or if you want to really commit
      http://www.vapeking.com.au/provari-mod/
      or even the provari 3, these ones are designed by NASA engineers and they are great. But as a first look I'd go the 20w box mod.
      Next you need a clearomiser, this is the the tank that holds the liquid and has the coil. It screws onto the mod.
      http://www.vapeking.com.au/aspire-nautilus-mini-bvc-clearomizer-kit/ - can't go wrong with this. I use the T tank (you will see this on the page - stops me breaking the glass)
      Next is the liquid. It is illegal to sell liquid containing nicotine in Australia, you have to purchase it OS (states)
      Try this
      http://www.halocigs.com/e-liquid/tobacco-flavors.html
      Tribecca is good.
      or
      http://fivepawns.com/shop/castle-long/ A vape I am liking ATM.
      The coils in the tanks last about 2 weeks, so buy some spares.
      You are probably looking at 150 to set up (the above plus a few bottles from OS).
      This will get you off the stinkies for sure.
      You can also get a lot of info from
      http://forums.aussievapers.com/forum.php
      Once you get into it you can mix your own juices and 'smoke' for about $3.00 per week, buying liquids from the states would work out about $30.00 per week) - 30 ml would last a week or more.
      When you get liquids, make sure you get 18mg nicotine when you start, you can reduce after that if you wish

      Also, if you don't like it, you can sell the stuff (minus the liquid) on the vapeforum
